Are you a lover of tea and looking for the best high tea spots in Nijmegen? You’re in luck! Nijmegen has a lot of locations to enjoy scones, sandwiches, quiches, and different kinds of tea. Discover our favorite places here:

1. Philipse Koffie & Brocante

Feel like going somewhere different, away from the hustle and bustle of shopping? Philipse is located in Nijmegen’s city center, right next to the Stevenskerk, in one of Nijmegen’s authentic claustral houses. You have to try a high tea at Philipse together with your friends: they serve their delicious sweet and savory snacks on antique floral tableware!

2. Kattencafé Balthazar

Kattencafé Balthazar: a cozy living room-esque café where you can enjoy a delicious high tea and the company of cats. Their high tea consists of a large selection of sweet and savory delicacies – plus, they also have a vegan version, available on request! Please note: reservations have to be made a day in advance.

3. Juliette’s Lounge

Looking for a spot to have a delicious, special, and luxurious high tea in Nijmegen? At Juliette’s salon de thé & lounge (on the first floor of Hotel Blue), you’re sure to find what you seek. Holy Sweets’ in-house pastry chef makes the most delicious cakes and sweet and savory treats every day: just try to say not to that. If you come with a group of over six people for a high tea or cream tea, they’d like to know in advance so they can bake a few extras. Plus, they also serve a diet high tea for -less, -free, and -intolerant folks: there’s no reason not to drop by!

4. De Meesterproef

A special high tea in tough, industrial ambiance, with a great view over the Waal river. Sound interesting? De Meesterproef is located in the old Honig factory: one of Nijmegen’s cultural hotspots! In this unique industrial environment, De Meesterproef will serve you platters filled with sweet and savory snacks, sandwiches, and of course the most delicious tea. When preparing their high tea dishes, De Meesterproef only uses fresh products, preferably from local suppliers.

5. De Hemel

At De Hemel, you can enjoy a delicious high tea! Do it indoors, in de Commanderie van Sint Jan, or at their outdoor seating area. They serve a special combination of sweet and savory bites – from scones with clotted cream and marmalade and pastel de nata (a Portuguese delicacy) to savory quiches, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate crunch – all paired with delicious teas.

6. Tati

If you’re a vegan or vegetarian, Tati might be the place for you! Their high tea consists of sandwiches, sweets, and unlimited tea. Plus, you can also enjoy a gluten-free high tea or one without refined sugar here!

7. Fresca

Fresca’s high tea will span an entire afternoon! Sit back, relax, and partake in the delicacies they’ve made for you. Do you have an allergy or intolerance, are you pregnant or are you a picky eater? They do everything they can to make your high tea as enjoyable as possible! It always starts with a cup of soup and a frittata. Then they’ll serve a tray with different sandwiches; and last but not least: their freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream as well as pieces of homemade cakes and pies.

8. Yoghurt Barn

A high tea at the Yoghurt Barn both is delicious and has a positive impact on the environment! Enjoy their different flavors of loose-leaf tea and let their Barnistas surprise you with a beautiful tray full of delicious sweets: Yoghurt specials, Barn sandwiches, cucumber slices and pull-apart bread with homemade yoghurt dips, a Barn Wrap, and of course pastries of all shapes and sizes. They even serve vegan high teas: even more climate-positive!
