Have fun with the kids
Bring your kids to Nijmegen. Go to a performance, the cinema, a petting zoo, or visit some other fun activity.
There is much to do and see in Nijmegen for children. Dive into the city's history, learn all there is to know about the river Waal, or immerse yourself in the world of a blind person. Visit a petting zoo, jump as high as you can, or come and eat pancakes. In Nijmegen, you can do it all!
Take a journey of discovery
There are various museums in Nijmegen where your children can have an adventure! At Bastei, they learn everything about the river; a lot of fun and educative for both grown-ups and little explorers. MuZIEum offers children an experience in the dark and allows them to experience what it is like to be blind or visually impaired. If your kids love riding a bike, then go and take a look at the Velorama Museum. Museum het Valkhof, where the ARCHEOlab is located, is also a fun place for little daredevils.
Fun and games
Going out and about with the kids… no problem! You can take them golfing in the dark with glow lights, or play laser tag at LaserQuest. Fancy a real challenge? Visit the Escape Room for children at Project Escape. Let them blow off some steam at Jumpsquare; they will have fun for hours on the various trampolines.
Fancy a film or a performance?
Bowl of popcorn, 3D-glasses at the ready, and watch a children's movie at the cinema. For this, Nijmegen has Vue Walstraat, Vue Plein 44, Pathé, and LUX Nijmegen.
Of course, a performance on stage is also a lot of fun! De Lindenberg, Stadsschouwburg Nijmegen and Concertgebouw De Vereeniging offer very cosy, hilarious and fun family performances. Or visit a performance of Kwatta (located at Theatre Het Badhuis); they make quirky youth theatre for children.
Have some fresh air together
Not all outings have to cost money; you can also go outside into the fresh air! Pay a visit to Kronenburgerpark. Clamber onto the monkey bars or go watch the animals. Also fun: take the kids to the petting zoo at Goffertpark. They have many animals such as sheep, peacocks, pigs, rabbits, horses and so on! They also regularly organise art and craft afternoons.
Dig in!
In addition to the large offer of children's activities, Nijmegen also has many fun locations that offer a delicious meal. Everyone will be hungry after a day in Nijmegen! You will find an eatery at practically every corner of the street and at every square.
