Then you’ll be able to drink all their opened special wines at a discount! Every Thursday and Sunday, they serve an informal mini tasting at this wine bar. For those who get hungry from all that wine, there’s an array of appetizers to order, from oysters to cheese to charcuterie. Discovered a new favourite wine? Buy a bottle (or two) for home use at the adjacent Marcel Arentz wine shop.
3. Grand Café Moenen
In March of 2020, Grand Café Moenen and Wijncafé Pinot decided to merge into one, resulting in something beautiful! Their wine glasses are always ready and polished for a next serving. Choose from several tastings, with perfectly matched appetizers and wines. Are you visiting with someone who’s not that into wines? No problem: Grand Café Moenen also carries a wide range of specialty beers. You can linger here for hours, because you can also eat lunch or dinner in the café or their outdoor seating area!
Every wine lover can indulge at lunch-and-wine bar Nostra. Pretend you’re in Italy, California, France or Argentina by drinking the most flavourful wines. Want to celebrate with bubbles instead? Choose from their variety of Proseccos or the Veuve Cliquot champagne. Tip: surprise someone (or an entire group) with a high wine – enjoy two glasses of wine and delicious appetizers for €32.50 per person.
Ultimo’s Pepijn has travelled all over the world looking for inspiration for his wine bar and restaurant, and you can definitely taste it! Their wine list is very extensive and put together with love and passion. They have no qualms opening special wines for those who want to taste something unique. Would you like to know more about the wines or are you having trouble picking one? Their staff will be happy to tell you more about the special stories and flavours of the wines.
6. La Belle Excuse
Last but not least: La Belle Excuse. Pretend you’re in France for an afternoon or evening – even if you’re in eastern Nijmegen. Taste French wines, cheeses, sausages, and local products. This wine bar pours wines from six different wine regions: from Bourgogne to the Côtes du Rhône. Cheers – or as they say in France, santé!
