Film & literature
In Nijmegen, there is plenty to discover for film lovers! Every April, the annual short film festival Go Short takes place. Over the course of 10 days, you will see the finest of what short film has to offer. Are you more into documentaries? Then science film festival InScience is the place to be for you. During five days in November, you will learn all there is to know about the most recent and ground-breaking science.
Celebrate literature at one of the literary festivals! In the autumn, during the literary festival 'buiten zinnen', artists share their favourite lines with you. At the end of the year, the Wintertuinfestival takes place, with a different theme for every year. Book week fan? Taste the art and culture
Those who love art should not miss the Nijmegen Kunstnacht! During the annual Kunstnacht in September, more than 50 cultural organizations present an interdisciplinary program at over 20 locations. This allows you to discover all of cultural Nijmegen in a single night.
In the summer, you'll enjoy the best theatre, dance, music and stand-up at Kronenburgerpark during TheaterAvenue. This festival is the ideal summer terrace and a fantastic venue for all ages to discover new things.
For the real foodies among you, there is TREK. The largest travelling food festival in the Netherlands also prepares the most delicious dishes for you in Nijmegen. While eating and drinking you also get a taste of culture with the best regional young theatre makers, cabaret and musical talent.
