11x great places to study in the city centre
Do you want to take a break from studying in your busy student house or at school? Then go to the city centre! Nijmegen has plenty of great places to study. Whether you need to study, type up reports or brainstorm with your fellow students, Nijmegen has it all! We have selected the best places for you. Good luck!
1. Fika
The best ideas originate at Fika, which is why this is the place to be for studying. Get behind your laptop in the early hours of the morning after a night out. Would you prefer some more space? The Fika Office has spacious workstations. You’re free to study here from 9:30am to 5:30pm.
2. Fresca
Across the street from Fika is Fresca, a cosy lunch café with deliciously creamy cappuccinos. You can also try one of their fresh juices, ginger teas or, on a hot day, an iced coffee – because you need to make sure to hydrate properly when you’re studying.
3. PUCK Specialty Coffee
Need caffeine to stay awake? Then go to PUCK and pick out your favourite flavour of coffee. Fruity, nutty or chocolate-y: they have it all. Great if you're brainstorming with your classmates or just need to hit the books.
4. Doppio Espresso Nijmegen
Doppio is ready to make your favourite coffee every day. Located in the centre of Nijmegen, it’s an ideal place if you live in the city and are looking for a place to study.
5. De Witwasserij
Doing your laundry and studying at the same time? That is possible at the Witwasserij. To satisfy your hunger, you can even get a delicious doughnut. Convenient, right?
6. Hotel Credible
Hotel Credible is a well-known place among Nijmegen citizens. Here, you can simply open your laptop, brainstorm together with your fellow students and have lunch or a pastry in the meantime.
7. Mariënburg Library
In Mariënburg Library, you can comfortably sit on a chair and study to your heart’s content. Don't forget to get a nice coffee from Coffeelovers while you’re at it.
8. The Lobby
If you’ve been to Fika and Fresca, you’ve probably seen The Lobby. This cute little café is located next to Fresca and is an ideal place to study. Order a nice coffee or lunch and start typing your report or thesis.
9. CoffeeLab
Do you live outside Nijmegen, but do you still want to meet up with your fellow students? Go to CoffeeLab, located opposite the central station. Great if you come to Nijmegen by public transport!
10. Guest House Vertoef
A little further from the station, but still close by, is Guest House Vertoef. The lobby offers a nice spot to study. There are power outlets all over, so you don't have to go home to charge your laptop.
11. First Things First
Would you rather study outside the city centre? We highly recommend First Things First: a nice location with good coffee. First Things First isn’t located in the city centre, so it tends to be a bit quieter. Great if you have to cram and prefer not to sit at home.
